What is this site anyway?

Amazingracers.com hosts a game based on CBS' hit reality television show, The Amazing Race. It's a place for fellow fans of the show to compete against each other in a friendly competition, thereby making one of their favorite pastimes even more fun.

How long has this site been around?

The site started up in time for season 8 (the family edition). Before that, it was a crude game jotted down on a piece of paper between a group of avid Amazing Race fans. Once the paper version started to get a little competitive we thought, "Hey, why don't we put this on the web and invite everybody to play!?" If you want to see the results of the past few seasons be sure to visit our links page.

How do I join the fun?

Click on the register link and enter all the necessary info. You'll get a confirmation e-mail and then you're in!

How do I play the game?

Every week before the show's starting time, you'll need to visit the rank 'em page. Using the scroll down menu to pick the order you think every team will place during that night's episode. Shortly after the show your guesses will be compared to the actual results, your points tallied, and your score posted on our results page. We try to help you out by sending a reminder e-mail once a week. Just don't forget that you need to vote before the show starts on the east coast!

How does scoring work?

Scoring is pretty simple. If you have a better way to do it feel free to share your method (but don't expect us to change it unless you've got a really really good idea):

• You get 11 points for guessing who came in 1st, 10 points for guessing 2nd, and so on down to the second-to-last position.
• Guessing the last place team is as special as predicting the first place team so you can earn 11 points for getting this right.
• If you guessed that the 1st place team would take last you are penalized as many points as there are teams in the race and the same if you guessed the last place team would take first. For example, let's say there are 7 teams in the race. I guess that my favorite team will take 1st, but they actually take last - I get 7 points subtracted from my total score.

What can I win?

Fame, glory, celebrity status, and just a darn good feeling. Seriously. We've considered handing out prizes, but believe it or not there are ways to cheat in this game and we don't want to encourage it. So if you're at all tempted to fish around on some dark websites in the corner of the internet just so you can claim victory here at amazingracers.com, please don't. You're just ruining it for the rest of us. However, we do have some raffles planned that you can be a part of just by participating.

Who is Phil?

Phil is a fictitious host fabricated by the makers of this site for the soul purpose of hosting our game here. Feel free to communicate with Phil as if he were real. Just like the real Phil Keoghan, he is omnipotent and all-knowing.
